Carles Peris (sax/flute): Multiinstrumentalist, beherrscht Querflöten sowie Saxophone und bringt eine vielfältige Palette von gepflegten und “ungepflegten” Klängen auf die Bühne. Seine musikalische Laufbahn begann in der Jazzszene von Barcelona. Seine Offenheit als Künstler hat ihn dazu gebracht, bei verschiedensten Formationen und Projekten mitzuwirken: Babak Nemati Quartet, Radar Suzuki, Open Mind Memory Testers, 3 Wheel Drive, Swiss Improvisers Orchestra etc.
Fridolin Blumer (bass): (*1984, CH/FL) ist Bassist. Als Improvisator und Interpret steht er oft auf der Bühne und spielt aktuelle und neue Musik. Im Alter von acht Jahren begann er Cello zu spielen und wechselte mit 15 Jahren zum Kontrabass.
Seit 1999 erforscht er die musikalische Tradition, die akustischen Ereignisse von heute und die Spielweise des Basses in Bezug dazu.
Von 2003 bis 2008 studierte er an der Musikhochschule Basel, Abteilung Jazz. Wichtige Inspirationen sind die Black American Music, die europäische klassische Musik und verschiedene Volksmusiken. Fridolin Blumer lebt in Zürich.
Olaf Ryter (drums): begann bereits im Alter von 12 Jahren, Schlagzeug zu spielen. 1988 Mitgründer der Fusion-Band "apple juice". 1990 Mitglied des Projektes "burhan oçal group". 1992 Mitglied der Blues-Band "back to the roots" mit unzähligen Konzerten in der ganzen Schweiz und CD-Produktion. Ab 1994 Studium an der Jazzschule Zürich; ergänzt durch Privatunterricht und Master-Classes mit international bekannten Musikern. Von 2001-2005 absolvierte er in der Jazzschule St. Gallen den SMPV-Abschluss. Tätigkeiten: Schlagzeuglehrer und Toningenieur. Regelmässige Konzerte und CD-Produktionen im In- und Ausland.

Fresh band, new sound!
Das Babak Nemati Quartet ist eine bunte Modern Jazz Gruppe, mit erfahrenen und hoch experimentellen Musikern aus der Schweiz, Spanien und aus dem Iran. Kurz nachdem die Band Anfang 2011 vom Bandleader und Gitarristen Babak Nemati (mit persischen Wurzeln) in Zürich gegründet wurde, fanden sich die vier engagierten Musiker in einem Aufnahmestudio wieder und haben ihr erstes Album mit sieben Eigenkompositionen aufgenommen.
Im September 2012 fand die CD "Seven Good Wishes" ihren Weg in den Katalog des Schweizer Jazz-Labels: Altrisuoni -> Catalog: Babak Nemati Quartet
Kurze Zeit darauf absolvierte das Quartett, bestehend aus Babak Nemati (guitars), Carles Peris (sax, flute), Beat Gisler (bass) und Olaf Ryter (drums) eine erfolgreiche on-and-off-Club-Tour in Westeuropa,
die bis ins Frühjahr 2014 dauerte. Während dieser Tour entstanden viele neue Ideen und Kompositionen für das zweite Album. Und die Band hat sich schnell weiterentwickelt.
Das zweite Album mit dem Titel "Zarathustra" wurde am 20. September 2015 bei Unit Records (CH) veröffentlicht.
Seit Februar 2016 ist Fridolin Blumer (Kontrabass) ein neues Bandmitglied.
Im May 2017 hat die Band ihre dritte CD mit dem Titel "Safar - Die Reise - The Journey" aufgenommen.

Carles Peris (sax / flute): a multi-instrumentalist with a variety of flutes and saxophones at his fingertips, brings a diverse range of well-mannered and "scruffy" sounds to the stage. His musical career began in Barcelona’s jazz scene. An open-minded artist, he soon became involved in many different ensembles and projects, among them the Babak Nemati Quartet, Radar Suzuki, Open Mind Memory Testers, 3 Wheel Drive, Swiss Improvisers Orchestra and others.
Fridolin Blumer (double bass): (*1984, CH/FL) is a bassplayer. As an improviser and performer, he is often on stage and plays topical and new music. At the age of eight he began playing the cello and switched to bass at age 15. Since 1999, he explores the musical tradition, the acoustic events of today and the related way of playing the bass. From 2003 to 2008 he studied at the music academy of Basel, jazz department. Major inspirations are the black american music, european classical music and various folk musics.
Fridolin Blumer is living in Zurich, Switzerland.
Olaf Ryter (drums): began playing the drums aged 12 and co-founded the fusion band “apple juice” in 1998. He joined the Burhan Öçal Group in 1990 and in 1992 became a member of the blues band "back to the roots", undertaking numerous performances throughout Switzerland plus a CD production. In 1994, Ryter began studying at the Zurich Jazz School, complemented with private lessons and master classes with internationally renowned musicians. Between 2001 and 2005, he studied at the Jazz School St. Gallen, graduating with a diploma from the Swiss music pedagogical association SMPV. He currently works as a drum teacher and sound engineer, with regular performances and CD recordings in Switzerland and abroad. He is a member of the Babak Nemati Quartet, 3 Wheel Drive and Lurking Loops, amongst others.

Fresh band, new sound!
The Babak Nemati Quartet consists of open-minded, experienced and highly experimental modern jazz musicians from Switzerland, Spain and Iran. Shortly after the group was founded in early 2011 by Persian leader and guitarist Babak Nemati in Zurich, Switzerland, the four dedicated members found themselves locked in a recording studio, creating their first album with seven original compositions. By September 2012, Seven Good Wishes had made its way into the catalogue of the Swiss jazz label Altrisuoni (Catalogue -> Babak Nemati Quartet).
Shortly thereafter the quartet, consisting of Babak Nemati (guitar), Carles Peris (saxes, flutes), Beat Gisler (electric bass) and Olaf Ryter (drums), embarked on a successful on-and-off club tour across Western Europe, which lasted until spring 2014, to promote the album. The band has continued to develop.
The second Album entitled "Zarathustra" was released by Unit Records (CH) in September 2015.
Since February 2016 Fridolin Blumer (double bass) is a new band member.
In May 2017, the band recorded their third album entitled "Safar - Die Reise - The Journey".
